56% reported an improvement in anxiety & depression (PHQ-4)
74% reported an improvement in energy, strength, sex drive, work performance (qADAM)
78% reported an improvement in health behaviors (diet, exercise, sleep, focus, & relationships).
These results are consistent with previously published studies.1,2 These studies showed that similar medications as those used in the Maximus King Protocol helped 90% of men improve a symptom and provided clinically meaningful increases in:
Thus, Maximus does NOT use a lab test in advance to see if you qualify as “Low T.” Rather, we use a scientifically-validated questionnaire to assess your symptoms and areas for improvement. Your doctor uses this info, along with your medical history and goals, to assess if the protocol is right for you.
If you qualify, your doctor can prescribe an at-home lab test at the same time as personalized medications & supplements, to ensure you can get treatment in as soon as one week. Thus, the purpose of third-party lab testing is to provide you with an objective “before & after” 30 days to prove the protocol is working, and provide your doctor with additional info to optimize your treatment over time.
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) shuts down your body’s own production of testosterone and replaces it with synthetic testosterone that is typically injected, which results in testicular shrinkage, infertility, and dependence. However, a newer, cutting-edge approach is testosterone restoration, using oral medications to restore your body’s own natural production of testosterone without these adverse effects.3
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs) act as estrogen antagonists—they block estrogen from binding to the estrogen receptor in the brain, at the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland.
So when the brain thinks that it’s not getting enough estrogen, it stimulates the production of the hormones luteinizing hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which increases the testes' production of testosterone and sperm, respectively. This cleverly stimulates your body into producing more of its own natural testosterone!
Enclomiphene is the purified isomer of Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate), which has been FDA approved since 1967 for fertility in women, and has been commonly used off-label in men.* Many research studies suggest Clomid “is safe and effective with few side effects when used as long-term treatment of hypogonadism (low testosterone)"4 and is an “effective and safe alternative to testosterone supplementation in [young] men wishing to preserve their fertility.”2
However, Clomid is actually made up of a mixture of two isomers: 38% zuclomiphene and 62% enclomiphene. Zuclomiphene is an estrogen receptor agonist (increases estrogen) that stays in your system a long time and accumulates much more over time than enclomiphene.5
It is the zuclomiphene portion that causes the minor side effects of Clomid like mood swings, depressed mood, irritability, anxiety, gynecomastia, & libido issues that can develop in a small percentage of patients over time.6 "The literature has suggested that most of the beneficial effects of clomiphene are due to the trans-isomer enclomiphene. Zuclomiphene contributes little to the intended outcomes.”7
Maximus’ cutting-edge innovation is purifying Clomid to maximize the amount of enclomiphene present. This new, purer form “maintains the androgenic benefit of Clomid without the undesirable effects attributable to zuclomiphene”, and has been shown to increase testosterone levels and maintain sperm concentration (unlike TRT).7
Experts believe enclomiphene should “become the primary medication for men with secondary hypogonadism (low T) who wish to preserve spermatogenesis (fertility)… and is “a very promising drug for patients with secondary hypogonadism and who are concerned about the negative effects of exogenous testosterone.”7
Studies using enclomiphene for testosterone restoration vs. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) show why this approach is superior in individuals who still have normal testicular function. In obese, hypogondal (low T) men, enclomiphone increases testosterone more than testosterone gel and keeps levels more consistently stable.8
In addition, enclomiphene stimulates the testes (and actually increases their size) to produce Luteinizing Hormone (LH) & Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which is how the body naturally and endogenously produces testosterone and sperm.
In contrast, testosterone gel has the opposite effect: significantly impairing LH & FSH production, thus shutting down endogenous production of testosterone & sperm, which causes testicular shrinkage and external dependence on testosterone replacement.8
The adverse effects of enclomiphene have been extensively studied during phase II and phase III clinical trials.7 The drug is generally well tolerated with side-effects occurring relatively rarely such as:
“Overall, there was no evidence of drug toxicity and rates of adverse events were not significantly different from placebo.”GET STARTED NOW
Increasing testosterone naturally increases estrogens like estradiol. Instead of using aromatase inhibitors (AIs) to control estradiol, which can cause adverse effects, leading testosterone experts like Dr. John Crisler promoted a safer and gentler approach of using a detoxifying, antioxidant supplement called Calcium Saccarate (aka Calcium D-Glucarate) to balance hormone levels and is “many times helpful” for libido.
Calcium Saccharate (Calcium D-Glucarate) is the calcium salt of D-glucaric acid, a substance produced naturally in small amounts in your body and also found in fruits and vegetables.
Oral supplementation of Calcium Saccharate inhibits beta-glucuronidase, an enzyme involved in liver detoxification, and allows the body to excrete hormones such as estrogen before they can become reabsorbed. Oral administration of calcium saccate has been shown to lower serum estrogen levels by 23%.9
Thus, Calcium Saccharate is useful in removing excess estrogens (including those toxic xenoestrogens absorbed from the environment). Thus, as enclomiphene increases testosterone, calcium saccharate decreases estrogen levels, to create a synergistic combination that results in optimal hormonal balance.
Maximus’ King Protocol is more than just medications. We believe the evidence shows that the best possible care is holistic, incorporating both pharmaceutical and health behavior change in order to maximize hormonal and overall health. As a result, we don’t sell standalone medications, but rather, protocols/programs, which include three effective components:
*starting at $199/month
Our all-in-one pricing includes everything you need, based on standard medications/dosages, and two before & after lab tests, which works for most people. If you need different medications/dosages and additional lab tests, we will pass on the slight additional cost to you at-cost without any extra profit.Get Started Now
The Maximus King Protocol provides the best of both worlds: convenient pills you take by mouth that are safe (side effects are no different than placebo in clinical trials) and have the opposite effect of TRT: they stimulate your testes to produce your own natural production of testosterone, which increases testicular size and maintains fertility, and can be discontinued without adverse effects (your levels just go back to their previous baseline in that case). As a result, you and your doctor can choose to take it indefinitely, as long as you’re continuing to benefit.
|Maximus King Protocol||Testosterone Replacement Therapy||Testosterone Support Supplements|
1) Meaningfully increases testosterone
2) Minimal side effects
3) Improves fertility (vs. causes infertility)
4) Increases testicular size (vs. causes shrinkage)
5) Pharmaceutical grade / free from impurities
6) Convenient pills - no risky needles/ creams
Previously, the only two choices for testosterone were either ineffective or injurious. A small percentage of men qualified for prescribed Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), which is usually injected to be most effective (the scrotal cream is not absorbed as well and cannot be rubbed onto your partner or else it will masculinize them), but causes testicular shrinkage, infertility, and suppression of your own testosterone production that leads to lifelong dependence.
Or you could buy over-the-counter “testosterone support” supplements, which are nothing more than vitamins, minerals, and herbs that do not meaningfully increase testosterone unless you have an underlying nutritional deficiency. A published research review concluded “Patients should be informed that "T booster" supplements may not have ingredients to support their claims.”10
How long until I see results?
The medications used in the King Protocol take approximately 30 days to maximize testosterone levels, though it is likely that you can start feeling effects within the first few days. Please note, these are not psychoactive drugs like caffeine, where you physically “feel” the effects. Most users describe the effects as subtle but meaningful over time. Please note that Testosterone is not ‘magic’ in being able to cancel out health habits (you will not gain significant muscle mass and lose fat if you don’t eat right and exercise), but really works best to amplify positive health habits. The harder you work, the better it will help you feel.
Who is my clinician?
All telehealth consultations are conducted by licensed clinicians (usually a board-certified physician) with deep knowledge and experience in men’s health.
How do I receive my medication?
Your medication will be shipped directly to you from either Empower Pharmacy, or another compounding pharmacy of your choice (if available).
How soon can I get started?
Sign up and, if you qualify, receive your medication in less than a week!
I don’t have Low Testosterone (or don’t think I do), would I still qualify for treatment?
Maximus King Protocol is not just for people with Low Testosterone lab values, because we treat symptoms, not numbers. We utilize lab testing to help optimize and titrate your medication so that you're getting the most out of our program, but we do not use the test as a diagnostic tool. We are able to evaluate your symptoms through a comprehensive clinical intake that will be reviewed by one of our clinicians. You will be able to discuss your treatment directly with the clinician and determine one of our protocols are right for you.
Can I start KING if I’m already taking prescription testosterone replacement therapy (testosterone, HCG, AIs, etc.) or anabolic-adnrogenic steroids/SARMs?
No, Maximus King Protocol cannot be taken at the same time as TRT/AAS. However, if you and your clinician decide to discontinue TRT/AAS before beginning, then you can qualify for our program.
Does KING increase hair loss?
Some people ask how our protocol could affect hair loss, because they've heard Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) worsens hair loss, since testosterone converts to DHT, another androgenic hormone that may contribute to male pattern baldness.
Our protocol is very different than TRT by stimulating your own natural production of testosterone, which affects DHT differently than synthetic testosterone taken from outside of the body. A study showed that testosterone replacement gel (1% 10g) increased DHT by 8X as much as enclomiphene, even at higher dosages than what we typically use (12.5-50 mg). TRT also shifts the balance between the two hormones (DHT:TT ratio) towards DHT, while enclomiphene maintains the balance. Thus, enclomiphene should have minimal effect on hair loss compared to Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), and is much more "hair safe/friendly" for most people.11
Can I start KING if I’m already taking OTC testosterone supplements?
Yes, although please disclose the supplements you are taking to your clinician so they can personalize your treatment plan accordingly.
I live in California / Florida, but I’m currently out of town. Can you ship my medication elsewhere?
Sorry, but we’re currently licensed to operate in CA and FL right now. We are excited to expand to other states very soon, so stay tuned for updates! For now, please wait until you’re back home so we can get you started.
*Enclomiphene is a constituent of Clomid (clomiphene citrate), which is FDA-approved for fertility, but not for the treatment of secondary hypogonadaism, and so is prescribed for off-label use. Maximus makes no guarantee of which medications or supplements are prescribed, as these must always determined by the judgement of your clinician to determine what is appropriate care for you.
